Off to NYC!

I'm very excited about going to NYC this week for 2 months to study jazz violin at the NY Jazz Academy. I'll have an intensive schedule, great professors, and anticipate ramping up my improv chops a lot. Between my classes, jazz-club crawling, the Met Opera, all of the museums, bicycling in C. Park, seeing old and new friends, jamming, and haunting funky 2nd hand stores, I will have an incredible time.

A jazzer friend will be house-sitting for me, so the house will still be full of music.

Every once in awhile I just have to kick myself out of my environs, gorgeous as they are in CO, and throw myself out there. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Livin' the dream!

  1. Off for a few months again in NYC, classes with NY Jazz Academy, private lessons with Sara Caswell.

Writing some sort-of fiction (where does it become fiction, and when does it reflect some form of what's already in our minds?). Rather, I sit in front of the iPad and it writes itself; lots of little creatures wanting to come out.
